The Canyon Fire Department Dorm Program is a program designed to allow students enrolled in a college university to gain knowledge and training in the Fire / Rescue service.

Program Description
The Dorm Program provides free housing to students living in the dorm, along with excellent field experience and intensive training.
Students are required to be on duty two nights a week from 6 pm to 7 am, Monday through Friday along with Sunday during the day. Students will perform daily upkeep of facilities while on duty.
The students are involved in all of the department training and will respond to emergency calls where they will improve their skills as a firefighter / EMT. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are looking at a possible career in the Fire / EMS field.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 year of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to possess a valid Texas driver's license
- Enrolled in college or some sort of higher education
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0
- Be in good physical condition
