Interlibrary Loan is a service in which items that your local library does not own may be requested and borrowed from another library. Upon approval of the request, the item(s) are shipped free of charge to your local library for you to pick-up. The Canyon Area Library provides this service to Canyon cardholders in good standing only. Currently, Interlibrary Loans are available for books, audio books, DVD’s and CD's.
How do I apply?
Apply for an Interlibrary Loan by filling out a request form (PDF) and turning your application in to us at the front desk. Find our address with Google Maps. You can also use the ILL Navigator link, which will create a request through your computer. Contact us should you have questions.
What are my responsibilities?
Patrons are responsible for:
Any fees or charges incurred when the item is not picked up.
Any fees or charges incurred for overdue, damaged, or lost materials.
You must present your current library card and be in good standing when ordering Interlibrary Loan materials.
You can have no more than five requests at one time.
Can I request a new release?
Requests for new materials through Interlibrary Loan are usually denied. Most libraries begin to lend materials after their patrons have had first access.
