  3. Application for Water Tap
    This application is required for new construction that requires new water service (tap and/or meter) or existing customers that require replacement or up-sizing of their existing service (tap / meter). A plumbing permit for new or replacement private water service line must be obtained from the Planning and Development Department, as necessary, prior to new / replacement tap installation. The permit will indicate the service address and size of the tap required. To obtain a permit, please contact Planning and Development at 806-655-5014 ext 227. Any applicable permit fees and tap / meter costs must be paid prior to meter / tap installation. Applications specifically for tap / meter size upgrades will not require a permit. Fire service taps will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Contact the Public Works Department at 655-5011 ext 235, for fire line tap information.

  11. ATTENTION BUILDERS/ NEW WATER TAP CUSTOMERS:*
    The City of Canyon has been experiencing an increased amount of damage to our water tap equipment, especially in new developments. Effective immediately, the City of Canyon will be charging the person(s)/entity establishing the new water service for any damage found to the City's infrastructure and equipment associated with these taps. Charges may vary according to the amount and nature of the damage incurred. Once damage has occurred, no new water services will be issued to that customer until payment for the the current damage repair has been received. We appreciate your cooperation and are hopeful that this notice will help reduce or eliminate the damage to our system that we are currently experiencing.
